At the January 2024 Court of Honor Troop 457 celebrated Niklas C., Lucas R., Evan L., and Peter Y. on accomplishing the rank of Eagle. The four new Eagle Scouts provided the advice listed below to the remaining Scouts in the Troop.
Make sure to be proactive and take initiative. I know it may seem easier to let others do things for you, but that is not the way to learn and grow
Persistence is key. Just keep pushing forward.
Accept and help critiques. It is really hard to get better at something by yourself.
Keep an open mind and try new things. You never know whether you like something without trying it.
Although tedious, paperwork is important. Especially in higher ranks.
Keep track of your blue cards.
Take advantage of leadership opportunists. Leadership skills are incredibly valuable.
Embrace Scouting. It is one of the most fruitful experiences you will have in your life.
