Dear Parents, Leaders, Families and Friends of Troop 457,
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for allowing me to attend your Troop Meeting last week. I really enjoyed myself and had a wonderful time watching the boys participate in learning skills that will stay with them for a lifetime.
I know the dedication that it takes to have a healthy vibrant Boy Scout Troop. It takes strong leaders who want to better their communities. It takes engaged boys who enjoy learning and having constructive fun with a purpose. And it takes committed parents who know that Scouting is the best youth development program around.
I would also like to give you all a resounding “THANKS” for your participation in our annual Friends of Scouting campaign. I enjoyed speaking to the parents and the message that you’ve all expressed. Yes, it is a difficult time in the economy. Yes, you indeed may not be able to give at the level you’d like to. However, many hands make the load light and the message you all made very clear resounded in your active participation: “Scouting is important to us, and we will support it!” Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
If there are any families that were not able to participate on Tuesday, but would like to, it is not too late. You can mail your donation to the following address:
Boy Scouts of America
9190 Rockville Pike

Please make sure that you note that it is a contribution from Troop 457 in Eastern Montgomery County.
I am very happy to see so many of your boys reaching their greatest potential! I look forward to my next visit.
Yours in Scouting,
Gary
