We will kayak on Gary’s Creek and its connecting waterways. Kayak paddling will occur all day in shifts, using 10 kayaks from a local outfitter. Also planned is a tour of the Horn Point Environmental Center. Plenty of other fun activities will be going on all day, fishing, games, etc. A guaranteed good time to be had by all!

What you should bring: Bag dinner for Friday night (a few $ for ride home)

Water shoes/old sneakers, swim trunks for use in kayak
Fishing gear (License needed if over 16 years old)
Sunscreen and non-aerosol bug protection with Deet.

Please bring TWO signed permissions forms to the April 8th Troop meeting

1. Troop actvity permissions form and bring it with you to the April 8thTroop meeting (also available at www.t457.org web site).

2. CAVING PERMISSIONS FORM for either upper or lower caving, and bring it to the April 8th Troop meeting (also available at http://www.laurelcaverns.com/spelunking.htm ).

Scouts aged 12 or older (born on or before 4/10/98) will participate in the guided lower cave tour.

Scouts under 12 years of age will participate in the guided upper cave tour.

All Scouts signed up for the trip (except those Scouts who have already earned it) will also attend a Geology Merit Badge Class on Saturday morning.

Spend Saturday whitewater rafting Class III and IV rapids on the Lower Youghiogheny River at Ohiopyle, PA. Trip is suitable for beginners and adventurers – expect to get wet! Camp at Ohiopyle State Park (with showers & bathrooms). Rafting trip cost is $98 – includes rafting, wetsuit rental & camping costs. Also, bring $5 for gas plus money for Sat. breakfast on the road.

TRAVEL – Be at St. Patrick’s on Saturday, May 1, 6:30 am (depart 6:45 am)
- Return to St. Patrick’s on Sunday, May 2, about 1 pm
