Boy
Scouting is for adults as well as boys. We invite you to share your
skills and interests so the best possible program can be developed for
the Boy Scouts in this troop. In making this survey, the committee
wishes to find ways you can enjoy using your talents to help our
Scouts. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Local Tour
Permits
required for the following trips: All day trips more than 50 miles from
the Chartered Partner (St. Patrick's Church, Rockville);overnight; or
any
activity involving aquatic, caving, horseback riding, rappelling, rifle
or
shotgun shooting. District events do not require a tour permit. Permits
are
approved by the Council's Information Director. They can be mailed to
Marriott
Scout Service Center, 9190 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20814, faxed to
301-564-9513 or brought in person to the Marriott Scout Service Center
at
the front desk for approval. They must be filed two weeks in advance
of the scheduled trip. Approved permits are mailed back to the tour
leader
or designee. NOTICE BSA Youth
Protection Training is now required for at least one adult present
during any event or activity needed a local or national tour
permit. Further, every adult participating in nationally
sponsored events and activities must be trained in BSA Youth Protection.
